Home again, home again, jiggity jig

As you read this, I’m on a plane back to the US. Crazy. Three years in Japan, over. That’s it. Finished. 終わった (owatta). Sayonara, Japan.

Back in the US for two months, then it’s off to Jordan. This is insane! But I’ve got way more than I expected to fill my time in the US: a trip to DC; the GRE (in two weeks, egads! NOT READY!); scrapbooks to make; ukulele to practice; boxes to sort through; family to visit; “c’mon c’mon hurry up, lets go, got things to do, places to go, people to see,” as my dad would say.

It’s hard to explain the feeling, leaving here. I’m far different of a person now than I expected to be. I’m leaving friends, many of whom I’m pretty sure I’ll never see again. I’m leaving a country that I’ve b**ched and moaned about and yet loved dearly at the same time. It’s weird.

But hey, that’s life, and it seems to be a trend for me, choosing this path.
